Intended Use

Anti-Phosphatidyl Serine is an indirect solid phase enzyme immunoassay(ELISA) for the determination of IgM class autoantibodies against cardiolipin inhuman serum or plasma. This Kit is for research use only (RUO).

General Information

Anti-cardiolipin antibodies (aCL) can be considered as one of three groups ofanti-phospholipid antibodies, the others being VDRL and lupus anticoagulant(LAC). aCL and LAC antibodies appear to be closely related, or to recognizesimilar antigenic determinants. Of the anti-phospholipid antibodies, aCL areobserved most frequently and can be associated with a diverse set of clinicalmanifestations including neurological dysfunction, venous or arterial thrombosis,thrombocytopaenia and recurrent foetal loss5. Measuring aCL antibody levelsmay well be more useful than other anti-phospholipids because of these clinicalassociations6,7. The IgG isotype appears to provide the best correlation, IgM isalso found but IgA is more rare.

Measuring range

0 - 80 MPL-U/ml

Interferences:

Haemolysate up to 400mg/dl, bilirubin up to 0.2mg/mL and intralipid up to15mg/mL do not interfere with results.
